FAQ

"If I schedule a medical assistant service do I need to go to the vet?"

YES! Although all our staff are trained medical professionals with years in the field, we are not in place of your veterinarian.  Our service strictly helps clients referred by their veterinarian with medical assistance at home.  We are an extra pair of trained hands, but we do not diagnose or perform medical treatments unauthorized by law outside of hospital settings.  Many of our clients have trouble physically medicating or caring for their pets without extra help, that is where we come in.

"What should I expect before my service appointment?"

Once you have reached out to us, our team will contact you and set up a meet & greet time with a few team members.  Depending on the complexity of your needs we may need to schedule additional helping hands.  Once we have scheduled a day and time to meet your pet you will be asked to send us any pertinent medical records and we may reach out to your veterinarian to discuss your pet.  In some cases you may need to give your veterinarian approval to have us chat about your pets medical record. Our team may arrive in scrubs or regular clothes depending on your pets comfort levels with strangers. We are a fear free company and may discontinue or refuse service if we think it is in the best interest of your pets overall wellbeing.

"How should I prep my house for a medical assist visit?"

Our team will let you know after our meet and greet what things we will need ahead of time for your medical assist visit.  We recommend reducing the hiding spaces for cats, so keeping them in the space we will be working is ideal.  You should do this 2 hours prior to our arrival to give your pet time to adjust.  Having all supplies as well as their favorite treats on hand is a must.

"I have a pet with aggression issues and need behavioral help."

If you are having behavioral issues we strongly recommend you see a certified veterinary behaviorist.  Our service is not good for aggression or training as most pets are more confident in their own home and the aggression can be worse with strangers coming into their space.  If your vet has recommended sedation for appointments this is also an indicator that our services will not be beneficial to you.  Please let us know ahead of arrival how your pet generally behaves around strangers in your home.

"What if I need someone to come out regularly for a little while?"

That's what we are for! Just let us know how often you'll need us and we can get you scheduled accordingly.
